First rounds of testdrives done and a slight stress because of it… why? Well, it feels like when you go car shopping everything does not always go smoothly. However the first testdrive went smoothly and the salesman was kind and helpful.
The first testdrive for replacing the Batmobile, BMW 645Ci, took place a little before christmas, when I testdrove a 2009 Mercedes S400 Hybrid with 239 000 km on it. The car worked, everything was in good shape and the interior was not worn at all but looked and felt good. Only thing I missed on the car was the softclose doors and night vision, which is a heat camera that detects people and animals in the dark. The car had more kilometers than I want, I prefer 150 000 km or less. The kilometers are not the only thing that matters, because sometimes you might find a car with high kilometers but only one owner who has taken care of the car.
Everything worked smoothly at the car dealership, which was a bit surprising, because sadly a lot of times the customer service at car dealerships is not the best possible.
If we forget about the 2 options it lacked to be perfect for me, it was a good car. You could not tell it had been driven 239 000 km, the paint looked good, tecnhically I did not see any flaws and all the options and gadgets worked.
The car is big and you can feel it both while driving and being driven, it goes strongly as a huge train and at the same time you sit in it as comfortable as you would be sitting on a soft cloud because of the air suspension.
Even if the Mercedes S400 Hybrid is a really good option for a replacment and I could not find anything bad to say about it, The Batmobile, which is the BMW 645Ci did not get replaced and I still drive the Batmobile.
While testdriving the Mercedes I could not imagine the experiences that would come with the following testdrives. Next up is the testdrive stories of a Porsche Cayenne GTS, a BMW X5 and a BMW 750Li.
