A dream car

One car that has been one of my dream cars since it came on the market is the fifth generation Maserati Quattroporte 2003-2012 and a facelifted version of it, 2008-2012. And now when the idea is to replace the Batmobile, the BMW 645Ci, with a bigger car, or more precisely a car with a bigger interior I thought about the Maserati Quattroporte because of its nature I feel that it could be suitable to be the Batmobile 2.0. The reason why the facelifted version is that the poor gearbox was replaced with a good automatic gearbox from ZF. The challenge with a Maserati Quattroportes is to find a suitable individual, as there are not many of them available, especially the facelift version.

I found one and called the store and it was agreed that I would come and look at the car. About an hour later, I arrived at the shop with the batmobile and walked inside.

The original idea was to make all these texts and videos about cars with a good feeling and a positive attitude, but then there will be situations like today and although we don’t want to write too much negative, it’s important to be honest and also tell about the experiences when trying to testdrive and possibly buy a car.

I found the salesman I was talking to on the phone right away and he took me to the car. Immediately he got a call and went to talk elsewhere for a while and left me it alone with the car, I never really understood why a car salesman would take a call while presenting a car to a potential customer… When he came back I told the seller that it was hard to think about the car as it would be impossible to test drive it with the summer tires are it had installed as there is a lot of snow and -15 degrees celcius. The seller stated that we have not agreed on any test drive separately. I got annoyed about this comment and told him that why would I even come and look at it if I knew that it had summertires and asked him why he did not tell me this on the phone and set up a testdrive for another day after they put the winter tires on it.

Do sellers think that when they get a customer on the spot then the customer wants to buy a car without driving or that the customer wants to drive many times to the store for nothing? I said a few selected words and left.

The situation reminds me when in 2003 I wanted to buy a new BMW from Laakkonen in Herttoniemi and the salesman suggested that I should go elsewhere to pretend I was buying a car. That salesman got a because after I bought a new BMW for 80 000 eur in another shop, I drove back to the same shop and parked in front of the door, walked in and showed the salesman the car I bought.

I was in a bad mood because of the events and I thought about stopping at a random car dealership on my way home and see if they would have a car for me. While driving home I saw a dealership, Kupen Auto, in Vantaa where I stopped. They could not find a suitable car for me but I wanted to mention this because the seller named Tam served me well and kindly even though no suitable car could be found. This gave little hope for the future that there are also car dealers who listen to the customer and strive to serve in a friendly and professional manner.

I was geting hungry and I stopped at the Friends & Burger in Kaari and bought a burger and chicken bites because good food makes me feel better! And the Friends & Burger in Kaari saved the day because they were friendly and they always have super good burgers!

I still haven’t gotten to experience the feeling and the soul of the Maserati Quattroporte when you start it’s engine, maybe in the future there will be another suitable Quattroporte. Now towards the next candidates for the successors of both the Batmobiil and the Skoda Rapid.
